kittynoParticipantOk, I live in Seaview. Bad stench in the air tonight and I don’t think it’s just my farty dog. Doesn’t smell like lowtide to me. Very methane-like. Am I going crazy? Has the dog’s flatulence permanently altered my sense of smell?

WSBKeymasterHave heard a couple other reports of this. One in Westwood. One somebody via Twitter. And the 911 log shows SFD having checked out a “natural gas odor” report a couple hours ago. Have NOT heard what it might be, though. But no, it’s not just you! – Tracy

cjboffoliParticipantWe’ve got it here in the Junction too. I smelled it about an hour ago when I walked up to the Post Office drop off a few packages. It is a somewhat sulfurous smell blowing from the east. Almost reminds me of the smell of the paper factories in Charleston.

JanSParticipantwe had a definite odor in the air yesterday in Admiral (near Safeway), around 4-5pm…

anonymeParticipantI smelled it in Westwood a few days ago, and I’m smelling it right now in Arbor Heights.

squareeyesParticipantYeah, smelled like sewage. I smelled it yesterday in Morgan Junction around 8:45pm and was just as strong in Seaview when I got home awhile later.

KimberleyParticipantI caught the same smell around half past eight (reminded me of the aroma of Tacoma). Admiral / City View area.

MBParticipantI smelled it when I went out to my car at around 9:45 this morning in Sunrise Heights. Thought, “yuck!,” but figured it was the garbage truck that just went by. Then I got out of my car at work on the North end of Delridge and could still smell it. Definitely a sewage kind of smell. What the heck?

trickycooljParticipantThe trade winds switched direction yesterday, I noticed the flight pattern was switched to “good weather” mode (taking off to the north, landing from the south). So something that doesn’t normally blow our direction must have been coming in with the nice dry sunshine.
