Yesterday afternoon my teenage daughter lost her wallet. She thought maybe she left it on top of her car while getting gas but couldn’t remember exactly the last time she saw it.
We retraced her afternoon and couldn’t find the wallet.
Although she is only a teenager there were many valuable things inside her wallet including her debit card, cash and other ID’s.
Fast forward to 10pm last night when at our door came knocking a young man. I have to admit I was irriated that someone would be trying to sell me something at such a late hour. I almost didn’t answer the door but did have my husband.
Much to my shock it was a very young man – not sure if he was even 20. In his hand was my daughter’s wallet. He had seen cars running over it on Ruxbury near Safeway and stopped to pick it up. When he returned it everything was still inside. Cash – everything.
I’m still blown away by what a kind and touching thing it was for him to go out of his way to return an item that meant nothing to him.
We don’t know who you are but we think you are a rockstar and hope one day we can do something that nice for someone else !
