My Fire remote broke the other day. I was able to put it back together, but now the up and down functions don’t work. I bought a new one, but I don’t know how to set it up (HTMI, etc.) I will pay $30 for someone to either fix the original one so it’s fully functional OR set up the new one. Please email me at aroth111@gmail.com THANKS!

To set up a new Fire TV remote, insert batteries, turn on your Fire TV, and then press and hold the Home button on the remote for about 10 seconds until the remote pairs with the device.
    Here’s a more detailed guide:
    1. Prepare the Remote:

    • Insert Batteries: Place the included batteries into the remote.
    • Turn on your Fire TV: Make sure your Fire TV device is plugged in and powered on, and your TV is on the correct input.

    2. Pair the Remote:

    • Navigate to Settings: On your Fire TV, go to Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire TV Remotes.
    • Add New Remote: Select “Add New Remote”.
    • Hold the Home Button: Press and hold the Home button (the button with the house icon) on the new remote for about 10 seconds.
    • Pairing Indicator: You should see a light on the remote blink, indicating it’s in pairing mode.
    • Confirm Pairing: The Fire TV screen will prompt you to confirm the pairing, or it might automatically pair the remote.

    3. Troubleshooting:

    • If pairing fails:
    • Restart Fire TV: Unplug and plug back in your Fire TV device.
    • Check Batteries: Ensure the batteries in the remote are fresh and properly inserted.
    • Check for On-Screen Prompts: Look for on-screen prompts related to pairing the remote.
    • Use the Fire TV App: If you have the Fire TV app on your phone, you can use it to pair the remote.

    • If you have multiple remotes: You can pair up to seven Fire TV remotes to a single Fire TV device.
    • If you need to unpair a remote: Go to Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire TV Remotes and select the remote you want to unpair.
