JeannieParticipantHas anyone had great experiences with any Pilates places? For instance, Be Pilates, Pilates Pam, and Inspire (which I think is a combo of Pilates and other modalities). Although I work out regularly, I am pretty new to Pilates and want to start out gently – no boot camp or “tough love.”

dhgParticipantRather than a class, you might want to consider individual attention. Cynthia Jordan of Brace Point Pilates (www.bracepointpilates.com) can help you meet your goals. Athletes looking to tone up for the ski season and individuals just looking to meet their new year resolutions find it’s a great way to start.

ghar72ParticipantI’ve never taken a pilates class but my sister has taken both the individualized instruction and group classes. She told me that every time she takes a group class she gets injured. I’d take dhg’s advice above and go with the one-on-one instruction, especially if you’re new to it. Good luck!

SueParticipantI haven’t taken classes, but took private lessons at Be Pilates for a while and really liked them very much. They run some new client intro specials too, for both classes and intro lessons: http://www.bepilateswestseattle.com/new-to-pilates.php

hammerheadParticipantI have been doing pilates for about 15 years. It has saved my physical body, from slips or falls. I do private lessons.
While you requested West Seattle, my pilates instructor is in Burien and works out of her house, she has a beautiful studio. She has just expanded it.
She is a former classical dancer, and has been teaching pilates about 15 years or so.
Here is her website

Her prices are very reasonable too.

LVBebeParticipantInspire Pilates is fabulous, not traditional “Pilates” but a great workout and great studio.
