Turned on MSNBC and the footage of the tsunami is horrifying. 8.9 under water according to usgs out to sea from the ne end of the island.

al jazeera had some footage too.

This is terrible. Unbelievable. NHK did a magnificent job of catching the carnage of the Tsunami. Those poor people.

Hawaii is under warning: The University has canceled classes today. The Tsunami has reached Hawaii overnight and there still is a lot of flooding on the coastlines of all the islands.

More than a little worried about the nuclear reactor that suffered a cooling system failure.

The devestation of this Tsunami makes the Sumatran one that hit Phuket looke like a ripple. It did more damage locally and globally. Unbelievable pictures. Even in Chile they evacuated the coastline and is under advisory.

Im guessing it was a mega thrust type of quake. No confirmation yet.
