hopeyParticipantMy wedding is coming up in 15 days (yikes!), and my future father-in-law had promised to bring his classic car for us to use in the wedding — a silver ’33 hotrodded roadster with a removable ragtop. About a week ago he called my fiance and explained that he’d had a bit of an accident with the roadster. He forgot to set the parking brake, it rolled and got a bit smashed up. Too smashed up to fix in time for the wedding.
My fiance is scrambling to see if we can find a classic car or stylish convertible to rent for the wedding. If at all possible we are looking for a silver car (my dress is also silver grey), but will consider any color except red. We would happily consider something like a Prowler or even a Crossfire or Thunderbird convertible.
We have looked online, and it seems there are hardly any businesses offering classic car rentals (chauffered or not). What I’m kinda wondering is if anyone has a car in storage which they would be willing to rent us for that weekend. Both my fiance and his father are longtime “car guys” and would care for the car as if it were their own. We might even be able to trailer, instead of drive, the car to the wedding location.
I am not a frantic bride about this… yet! If anyone can help me not be frantic about this, I would appreciate it! Thanks! :D

WSBKeymasterThis one’s home page material – just posted there. Let us know when you get the wheels! The classic car show at Providence Mount St. Vincent had a few good-looking ones last weekend though somehow I doubt they’re ever loaned out. P.S. Congrats! – TR

charlabobParticipantHopey, that’s great! If you google seattle classic car rental, you get a whole bunch of listings. I don’t know anything about them — but I first found this amazing list when I was looking for something to rent for the bob’s (mumbleth) birthday — I just wanted something older than he was. :-)
Good luck — if I still had Carnelius (our ’69 Chrysler Newport convertible — red with black leather upholstery and matching red fuzzy dice) I’d try to talk you into using it — it’s been to more weddings than I have, and it was actually my engagement (piston) ring ten years ago. With great sadness, we sold it last summer to someone who was more into the fixing of classic cars than we ever will be.

AimParticipantAwww, Congratulations on your wedding!
I wish I still had my ’55 Chevy Bel Aire. It was my first car in 1988, and I was always being recruited to chauffer my older friends on proms and dates and such. (Now that I think about it, that doesn’t seem as great a deal for me as it seemed back then!!)
Anyway, best of luck to you. If I can assist you by using my Mad Google Skillz I’d be happy to. Just let me know.

pamMemberWe rented a beautiful silver cloud rolls-royce from this place for our sons wedding in 9/06. Service was great, they were on time, car was wonderful. http://www.bmclimo.com/ Perhaps they will have a car available with the late notice. Good luck. Keep us posted.

hopeyParticipantThanks for the comments so far… I’ve searched online for literally hours and come up with almost nothing, and I have quite the mad search skillz myself. :) Most of the links lead to dead sites, or the national sites don’t have anything in Washington.
The closest I’ve found is a company that rents private cars to the movie industry. We’ll need to call them and inquire, but I suspect the cost will be prohibitive.
It’s a darn good thing we did not plan the entire theme of the wedding around the car as we’d originally planned!

pamMemberDid you try the British Motor Coach site? I think it was about $250 – it picked them up in south Auburn and drove them to a Seatac hotel.

chrissouthMemberwhen we got married a few years ago we got a fantastic car from American Classic Limos. Ours was a prewar Cadillac limo (late 30’s early 40s, it was fantastic); I seem to remember them having a ’60’s convertible of some sort, too.
I haven’t been able to find them on the web, but you may get them by trying directory assistance. I seem to remember them having a pretty pitiful web presence… but a great car!
