As of the 5th of June West Seattle will have two more Off Leash Dog Parks and NO Shelters or Day Centers for unhoused humans. Congratulations.

Im sure that is because they would rather just hope for the homeless to magically vanish some day

Or it is because “some” of these and I said “some” of these advocates much rather see the money go into their pockets than where needed.

What does one have to do with the other? It’s not as if there were a choice between a day shelter and a dog park and the dog park won. A lot of people advocated for a dog park. I’m sure not nearly as many are advocating for day shelters, and quite possibly for good reason. Build it, and they will come. There aren’t many neighborhoods that want to actively add to the number of addicted and mentally ill people on the streets where they live. If you do, start a petition and lobby public officials as the dog group did. And be sure to let them know that you want it to be located next door to you.
