Lost engagement ring at Alki Beach – got metal detector?

A reader at the beach right now sent this:

“I’m sitting here at Alki Beach and my husband dropped my engagement ring in the sand and we can’t find it. Any chance you could put out a post asking if any folks with metal detectors were planning on heading to the beach today and might be able to help me out? The diamond is from the ring my grandfather gave my grandmother.”

Daily walker on Alki here. When i’m out-7:30 to 8:30 there’s been 1 sometimes 2 regular guy’s with their metal detectors checking the sand. I suggest if you can, come out in the morning and see if you can catch one of them so they can keep an eye out. Good luck!
