Dyan Cannon (birthname was Samile Diane Friesen) reportedly lived in the North Admiral area. Does anyone have any idea where she lived? She was a student at WSHS.

Hi bailecyclist, I checked the trusty old West Side Story, and although they show an address for Frances Farmer’s childhood home, they don’t for Dyan.

I also searched here on WSB, and a comment from WSB regular JanS on a thread from last year, indicates that she had some housecleaning for Dyan’s parents.

So, if it was the home Dyan grew up in, perhaps Jan will supply the info.

Dyan Cannon’s mom and dad lived on Sunset Ave. SW. near 48th SW. I don’t know if that’s the house that Dyan grew up in. Her mom passed away in 1993, and I believe dad still lives in the same house. I haven’t heard otherwise, but he is elderly, and I’ve lost contact with him. Dyan also has a brother, David Friesen, a jazz musician, who last I knew lived in Tacoma.

I met Dyan a few times….an extremely nice, gracious woman. Her daughter ( w/ Cary Grant) is very personable, too. I stopped cleaning for her parents when I started massage school in 1993, so it’s been a while.

Hi Jan, Now that rings a bell. I thought I kinda sorta knew at one time where she had lived!

According to another comment, on that same thread I mentioned, Dyan’s Dad passed away the year before at, or nearly at, age 100.

Thanks, Mike. I had missed that.

As Mike said, Dyan’s father (a sweet and wonderful man) passed away just short of two years ago. He was 99.

While Dyan DID do to WSHS, I seem to remember the family growing up in Tacoma. I could be wrong, but that sounds correct to me.

This says she was born in Tacoma:

    Haven’t found any other allusions.

LB, looking at that domain name, I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be “The Peer Age” or “The Pee Rage.” Does this make me immature or simply creatively-minded? ;-)

P.S. I prefer the latter interpretations of both the domain name and what it says about me!

    Peerage

The name of Ms. Cannon’s daughter with Cary Grant is Jennifer. Born 1966.

CB – I know it’s “peerage,” but you have to admit it doesn’t translate perfectly as a domain name.

SarahScoot: Actually, what I think it indicates about you is intelligence. I’ve always appreciated people who look a little closer at something, play three card monty with the components, and put something else together.

I have to imagine the daughter of Dyan Cannon and Cary Grant is a very attractive woman.

Maybe a sexist comment, but at times I have to allow my cro-maleness to rear his unevolved, uh, head.

Dyan’s parent built (and lived in for many years) the house is on the 2100 ? block of Sunset (it is currently for sale..1.2million?)

Her dad was a wonderful man….I use to “wash cars” in my neighborhood when I was young…..he would always help me wash his car, then pay me $5.00!!!

Dyan grew up in the Tudor on 48th & Sunset

When I cleaned for Mr. and Mrs. Friesen, I was always amazed at the view from their house. I had 3 different clients on various parts of Sunset SW…was a joy to go to work there…and especially to the Friesen’s house. They were wonderful to me, even found my most fave perfume on a suggestion from Dyan. Fond memories of the family, for sure.
