JoBParticipantBuried in the plant sale notice at Hotwire on the main page was this little tidbit…
Lora also told us her barista Blaine has made it onto “Project Runway†and is in L.A. doing the show right now.
How Cool!
I can feel a Project Runway viewing party coming on… with a local cheering section.
Please God..let us love her…. it doesn’t get better than this for a Project Runway fan.
Does anyone know anything about her? Does she show/sell locally?
I am just dieing to dish. Please spill all!
June 18, 2008 at 6:26 pm #627958
charlabobParticipantWhew, Blaine is a boy — what a relief! He has some possibility of winning.
WRT viewing parties, I INSIST that they be organized and implemented by the GLBT community. (Is that reverse reverse discrimination?)
No one can dish the designers like my G friends. Ls? A close second. Strait men–don’t get me started. I could not get the b to be interested in whether Santino was gay, straight, or bi. We almost came to blows. Fortunately, he feigned interest so the marriage was saved. This time.
Anyone know when this season starts?
June 18, 2008 at 6:31 pm #627959
charlabobParticipantI answered my own question — JULY 2008. The famine ends.
June 18, 2008 at 6:43 pm #627960
rs261MemberYou are talking about Santino correct? Some fan you are! ;-P
June 18, 2008 at 6:45 pm #627961
JoBParticipantcharla..
yes.. i think thta might be reverse discrimination masquerading as admiration… but those who don’t feel so constrained by the need to fit in are often the most colorful.. and in this case.. colorful is very very good.
a guy huh.. you re right. thta does increase his chance of winning…
but the really nice woman won top chef this time… tho only because the high tech guy had a bad day for his final meal:)
June 18, 2008 at 6:48 pm #627962
JoBParticipantTR..
can you edit my title to take out sexual references?
now that is a sentence that could lead to interesting conversation:)
i would do it myself but can’t figure out how tho you say it should be possible..
June 18, 2008 at 6:49 pm #627963
charlabobParticipantrs — big fan, bad speller (but I just edited so people will just be bemused by our conversation.)
Whoever he is, I like him. A lot!
Now, where’s the pahty? And who wants to go in some divey biker bar with me and insist that we turn off “Xtreme multifaceted boxing and beating up on each other” and turn on PR? Hmmmm???? Any takers?
June 18, 2008 at 6:53 pm #627964
AimParticipantCharla, I am THERE.
I love PR and don’t have cable. Pretty please may I come to the party? ;-)
June 18, 2008 at 6:58 pm #627965
charlabobParticipantAbsolutely — we’ll figure it out. (If we have it at our house, I’m afraid we’ll have to do some triage — all 5000 of you just won’t fit into our relatively small television room.)
June 18, 2008 at 7:00 pm #627966
JoBParticipanti was thinking maybe we should talk to the people down at the Hotwire cafe who one would assume have more connections to see if we can put something local together…
June 18, 2008 at 7:05 pm #627967
kParticipanthey gang! the project runway that is on in july is the last one filmed in nyc. blayne is currently shooting the next season in la. he won’t be on until the show moves networks and cities, but you should still get together to watch the show!
June 18, 2008 at 7:11 pm #627968
JoBParticipantany excuse for a good party… and maybe some outragious fashion.. and really bitchy comments… what fun!
June 18, 2008 at 7:23 pm #627969
WSMomParticipantMy wonderful husband who truly HATES reality tv will watch Project Runway with me. We love it!! It would be “fierce” if “Blayne” is another Santino or Christian. They really made the show so much fun to watch.
June 18, 2008 at 7:30 pm #627970
charlabobParticipantWSM, I spent two full months calling EVERYTHING I liked or even mildly approved of “FIERCE”. I expected it to spread like wildfire, but, sadly, it just made me even more incomprehensible.
k, What network is PR moving to? Last season was, indeed, fierce. The absolute fiercest.
June 18, 2008 at 7:41 pm #627971
kParticipantit is moving to lifetime. bravo is furious! if you google “pr” and lifetime you can pull up info about it all. and ps. blayne is fierce!!!!!!!!!!
June 18, 2008 at 9:38 pm #627972
HWCMemberIt’s HWC and yes our Blayne will be on PR this season which starts July 16th on Bravo. He’s currently in NYC filming and will be back on July 19th. We’re thinking about a big PR party at one of the local businesses too, any suggestions? Gotta say he’s worked darn hard to be on the show and we’re all super proud of him!
June 18, 2008 at 9:47 pm #627973
beachdrivegirlParticipantIt is actually really exciting because not only did Blaine get on the show, but he has also had some recent success wiht some lines he was designing in cordination with a local sports player(I believe Trufant but not 100% sure I dont remember) my sister works with his brother but had nto realized he was from W. Seattle
June 18, 2008 at 10:23 pm #627974
kParticipanti thought he was filming in los angeles, not the nyc show that starts next month. the new season that starts in july is the last season in nyc.

JanSParticipantOK…I’m new at this particular subject. I have never watched this show (no snide comments, please), but I’ve heard a lot about it since my daughter and her bf, the Tall Guy, are avid watchers. I’m in on anything that’s planned. Alas I can’t host, as my living room, while roomy for me, isn’t exactly roomy for a huge group (although I have a 37″ TV, which is BIG in comparison to the rest of the room – lol). So…how about the big screen at Rocksport….hahaha…like they’d allow that…hmm…maybe we could bribe them? I’m looking forward to it, whatever and wherever it may be, even if I’m watching alone :)

WSBKeymasterBlayne pix now posted

NOT from the show, mind you. Pix Lora from Hotwire sent.
June 19, 2008 at 1:08 am #627977
charlabobParticipantFierce—very fierce. Blayne (will) rule(s)!
June 19, 2008 at 1:16 am #627978
WSMomParticipantI think he’s kind of a big deal!
June 19, 2008 at 1:23 am #627979
celeste17ParticipantHow about we watch it via video tape on the wall next to Hot Wire (where they show the movies)? How about the Admiral Theater? Does Admiral Pub have a big tv? Can we install one at BPP? Fierce and Fiercer and Fiercest!!!
June 19, 2008 at 2:03 am #627980
JoBParticipantceleste17…
the admiral theatre is a fierce idea.. but i think that copyright laws might get in the way… worth checking with them though since i think it would be a BIG Seattle draw.. and they already do the midnight showing of …brain blank:)…
it’s worth a try…
do you want to contact them or shall I.. or some other intrepid soul.
i thought of top floor elliot bay.. but dont’ know that they get bravo. we could ask. they don’t have big screen but they do have a fairly large tv up there…
someone must go out much more than i and know where the big screens are…
i bet the Admiral Pub could be convinced:)
June 19, 2008 at 2:03 am #627981
JoBParticipantWSMOm.. hubby watches it with me too. i now have him watching top chef as well:)
