I saw a news program last night on the problems with Lica at area schools, I have heard that there was quite a problem with lice at Arbor Heights and they apparently posted it on their school website. That is at least being responsibile by alerting the paretns of the outbreak. But what I don’t understand is the School District stating that if 1-2 cases of lice are reported the School does not alert parents of the outbreak, but if there are 3 outbreaks they believe it is a problem. Why not alert after the 1st outbreak reporting? I sure would like to know from the get go.

one of the reasons mothers used to comb out their children’s hair every day was to check for lice.

treating for lice can be unhealthy if it isn’t a major problem, so check first, treat second.

We had good luck soaking our scalp in olive oil and wrapping our hair up in plastic wrap for one hour to drown the lice. Make sure the hair is dry before drowning in olive oil as lice can hold their breath when wet for a long time.

I wonder how many and which schools have been effected by lice outbreaks? So far at Roxhill there have been no outbreaks.
