Me, skinny cyclist. riding my race bike (because Thursday is Seward Park Crit racing after work) back-pack and yes… wearing my (lycra) team kit… again, because I planned on racing this afternoon.
Riding down 35th about 6:30am. Very little traffic. In fact when I heard you, I checked behind me to see what lane you were in, left. good. but then you changed lanes as you got closer. Laid on your horn and I heard you yell, “nice spandex f@g!”.
Now this is common. It’s actually easy to ignore. But your passenger throwing coffee on me was pretty f’d up.
I don’t think you realized that I travel at a pretty good clip for a commuter and was able to pull up next to you right as the light turned green by KFC… why did you roll your window up? Scared?
The best thing about this whole scenario, Mr company truck driver, is that YOUR company is actually bidding on a job that I currently have out for quote for a large project downtown.
Hey… nothing personal. I dont think you guys will get the job.

And I assume most bike riders who look like they know what they’re doing are probably in good shape and stronger than your average commuter. Not a good fight to pick.

dbseaMemberheh heh Had to chuckle at those cyclist fights. But they’re kinda small and probably wiped after how many miles. I think most people look even more ridiculous fighting than they do dancing.

JayDeeParticipantI’d say that you are totally justified. If you know the bidders rep well I would mention that one of his employees did this verbally, but only after the contract with the winner is inked. Still that sucks though and I hope you did well at the Crit.

velo_nutParticipantI’m still in conversation with both their VP and OM. Bid goes out Tuesday but their name is ________ Building Technologies.
They are being very apologetic. Whether my current position or a scorned cyclist I don’t know though.
