Jerry WhitingParticipantBased on recommendations here on WSB, I hired Joe the Plumber (the *real* one, not that bozo) in Jan08. He fixed an incorrectly installed dishwasher and fine tuned all the toilets in the house.
Before he left he gave me an estimate on replacing the ancient water heater. Given how good he was the first time, I jumped at the chance to have him do the job.
Now a year later we had a leak between the floors in our condo. The first plumber who someone else called misdiagnosed the problem (“It’s the roof leaking.”), handed us a $218 bill, and walked out the door.
I called Joe.
Problem fixed. Job well done. I’m walking on air.
I love my dentist. Only one I’ve had since I moved here 22 years ago. Now I’ve found my plumber. And no, he was Joe the Plumber 2 years ago, before Pres. Obama even announced his candidacy.

SusanMemberI’ll second that sentiment. Joe replaced a faucet for me last month. He was great.

livingonthebeachMemberI am in real estate and have used Joe for more than 3 years for our clients and had nothing but amazing success. I used him personally twice and quickly found out what everyone was talking about…he is way different from the rest. He answers your call, shows up on time, fixes the problem and charges reasonable rates.
.
Way to go Joe!

cjboffoliParticipantI think we’re blessed to have access to some great plumbers in this area. Based on a recommendation here in the WSB Forums I’ve used Paul Lewan from Stalwart Plumbing and he does excellent work as well. Not only were his rates reasonable, but he was professional and efficient, friendly and very smart too. Definitely not the low-slung toolbelt, crack-of-the-butt plumber of old. I’d call him out again without a second thought.

karenParticipantI loved Paul at Stalwart, too. He was polite to my kid – who asked lots of questions – careful about being clean and he kept me informed. Plus, he came out during the snomare when our water started to back up into the basement. I would recommend him and will call in the future.

mrhinehMemberIs $120/hr “reasonable rates”? *shaking head*
