smokeycretin9ParticipantI took daughter to Full Tilt tonight to have to walk the gauntlet of druggys, losers and for gods sake, prostitutes. There was a couple “ladies” working their own special form of magic while we ate ice cream. Waving at passing cars, standing at the cross walk, looking for a ride.
I went to the King Co Sheriff’s web page to report it, but according to K.C. you need to be a victim of said crime to report it online.
WHere do we go or who do we call?
p.s. This place feels like it’s getting sketchy again. Why the fuQ cant White Center catch a break?

clark5080ParticipantIsn’t that Community Officer office still there?

hammerheadParticipantSadly that office is closed a lot. call 911
LOL and there are people in Burien and White Center, who want to annex Area Y, to Burien.
Wait till NV closes it can only get worse.
Sorry you had to see that.

yikesMemberYou know, I’m more offended by the drug dealers…. they bring more crime and mayhem and violence.
And if enough men were offended by prostitutes, you could put them out of business!
Just sayin

JimmyGMemberCall 911, tell them it’s a non-emergency and they’ll transfer you to a secondary operator to take the information.
Be prepared to give a description of the ladies (clothing, weight/height, race) along with where they are.
It won’t be prioritized as in progress but deputies will be dispatched to make an area check as calls allow.
The reason it’s important to call it in is if citizens don’t report this activity it’s never recorded as occurring.
Going to the WC storefront is NOT the best way to report anything. I realize the storefront somehow makes everyone “feel” better, but it has little to no impact on crime.
You can still have the deputy assigned to WC as a “storefront” deputy, but having that mostly never occupied storefront have zero public safety impact.

JanSParticipantI’m trying to figure out how the closing of NV impacts prostitution in WC in any way…what does one have to do with the other, unless it’s an implication that all who live in NV are miscreants and law breakers…

inactiveMemberThanks to those that had specific concrete information to answer the question without hijacking. Yes, Call 911.
But also:
Notify/attend the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council (NHUAC) meeting and let them know your perception of crime creeping up;
Notify/complain to the WC Chamber of Commerce and Rat City Business Alliance and tell them the same thing.
Ask businesses/workers if *they* are calling in observed suspicious characters, because they are the frontline and *should* be. If businesses don’t call, it might just get sketchy again. Businesses are busy but beholden to report to 911 all visible or suspected criminality. Customers are in and out and will never be able to gauge the true threats as well as biz folks.
Now, as to derailing this into a continuation of a NV discussion GIRLZ, I realize it is just my opinion, but it would be classy if you were to start a thread of your very own if you need to to have it out.

JanSParticipantdood…I don’t want to make it about NV…but the statement “Wait till NV closes it can only get worse”..shouldn’t be ignored. Will it have a bearing on crime in WC?

gregsalmonParticipantYou don’t have to report it, everybody already knows.
If you want to report just call the police.

EdSaneParticipantUnless you observed the prostitutes engaging in a sexual activity there is nothing the police can do. I doubt they have the cash to run undercover stings for a public nuisance crime.

kgdlgParticipantWhen I worked in downtown WC ten years ago, all the cops new the prostitutes on a first name basis. Steve Cox used to walk up to them and say “why are you doing this again!?” of course we all knew why, they were trading sex for drugs. I saw one of those ladies working again out there recently – so so sad. Ten years (or longer) is a LONG time to be doing that work. They don’t need police, they need to get clean and sober. Any money for that in Olympia?

singularnameParticipantUse the opportunity to teach your kids about prostitution. That’s what my dad did, and I didn’t turn out to be a prostitute, so it must work!
