Housing Search in West Seattle

Hi everyone. I am moving to Seattle next month, and I will be flying out the end of this week for a few days to try and find a place to live. After looking online, it seems that West Seattle has what we are looking for: close enough for a reasonable commute to downtown but still has a community feel.

I have been looking on Craigslist and Zillow, and I have a list of a few places I would like to look at, but I know that rentals go fast here, so I am uncertain if any of them will be available.

I was hoping some on here might have seen for rent/lease signs in their area and would be willing to pass those along.

Here is what I am looking for:

Style: Updated or newer house or townhome.

Cost: $1500-2000

Parking: Off-street parking or garage.

Pets: 2 small (7-8 pounds each) dogs. Very well behaved and references are available.

Lot: A fenced yard would be a big bonus, but easy outside access for taking the dogs out would also be acceptable.

Size: 1000+ Sq ft. Number of bedrooms or bathrooms is not important.

rk: I’m going to bump a previous discussion titled: “Tips for finding house/apt in WS?” that had some listings… I know a couple I noted in there are still available as I drive by. I will start posting as I see them again and there are some other hints for local property management companies that might be of help. GOOD LUCK!

I noticed 3 houses for rent between the 7500 block of California up to Thistle (Gatewood Hill area). Don’t have any further info but if you are driving around, this seems to be a good place to check out!
