bsmommaParticipantCan anyone reccomend a good place for Breakfast? Typically we go to Chelan but service has sorta gone down the toilet. We are simple people. We love a good omlet or some kick butt eggs benni.
Thanks!

pamMemberPersonally love the Montana Potatoes at Charlestown – zuccini, mushrooms, onions, red potatoes, tomatoes, topped with egg of your choice (I choose scrambled). Little tabasco on the side to dip in….. yum

PDieterParticipantthe corned beef hash at endolyne joes is the best I’ve ever found

west seattle golferMemberJaK’s is my new favourite spot for breakfast.
They aren’t any more expensive than most breakfast spots in the area. A chorizo scramble with toast & really tasty potatoes will set you back < $10. And their breakfast libations (Mimosas, Bloody Marys) are only $3!!
Mmm.. breakfast! Is it Saturday morning yet?

OliverMemberFor a kick butt eggs benni, the only place is Charlestown Cafe. Like Chelan, they serve simple, classic food. But unlike Chelan, Charlestown has good coffee and great service.

celeste17ParticipantIf you don’t mind going a little distance I love Huckleberry Square in Burien. They are on Ambaum and about 144th. Great breakfast and reasonably priced.
Have you called and talked to Mary or Scotty? Mary is the mother who owns the place and Scotty is her son who runs the place when she isn’t there. I mostly see Scotty in the evening.

ZenguyParticipantOk, it is a little far, but Huckleberry Sqare (on Ambaum in Burien) is very similar to the Chelan and has great food and good service too.

WSBKeymasterWhat? No one mentioned Easy Street? I don’t think they have Eggs Benedict but I still adore the fact you can have lunch for breakfast if you want.

c@lbobMemberWe haven’t been to Huckelberry Square, but agree with the other suggestions from first hand experience.
A favorite of ours, although a bit far from our North Admiral digs, is Eats Market Cafe

Breakfast Sliders, yum, think of them as really, really good versions of McDonald’s egg biscuits. Enough to share.
Brioche French toast, makes me want some breakfast at midnight.
Market Huevos Rancheros, rounds out our favorites.

ZenguyParticipantHuckleberry Square has basic fare, but the biscuits and gravy and eggs benedict and very good and for a small price.

AnonymousInactiveHuckleberry Square is what you’re looking for if you’re fat, old, or hungover. And I mean that in a nice way as all 3 have been represented when we’ve gone. It has food you’d expect from about 50 years ago, including the frozen peas and white bread with dinner. Grandpa loves it! Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about either. I’ve only been a few times but the wait staff was excellent. Friendly and attentive.

ZenguyParticipantFair enough JT, but since the Chelan was the starting place, I thought it a fair compare.
January 17, 2009 at 5:32 pm #655178
AnonymousInactiveTotally agree Zenguy. Also reminds me of the now closed Admiral Way Cafe. Comfort food, and sometimes that’s exactly what hits the spot.

JenVMemberI like Ama Ama for breakfast. Luna Park also has a nice breakfast – especially in the summer when you can sit outside. Skylark totally kicks butt for breakfast – and lunch and dinner – although brunch isn’t the same without Matthew Darling!
January 18, 2009 at 12:32 am #655180
villagegreenMemberYeah, Skylard isn’t quite as fun since Matthew left! If they were located on California they’d give Easy Street a run for their money, but down under the bridge it’s always easy to get a seat. I love the place.
January 18, 2009 at 12:34 am #655181
villagegreenMemberOops – “Skylard” – don’t think that was a Freudian slip, but reading it back it is quite funny. So, to be straight, SkylarK rules!

gavinMemberI’m a big fan of the weekend breakfasts at Angelia’s, down by Admiral on California. Their crab benedict is delicious.
January 18, 2009 at 1:08 am #655183
KeithMemberDoesn’t Ama Ama only do brunch on Sundays? And where did Matthew go?
January 18, 2009 at 2:00 am #655184
pigeonmomParticipantMatthew is at The Chocolate Box
January 18, 2009 at 3:44 am #655185
GinaParticipantI enjoy the salmon benedict at Circa.
January 18, 2009 at 4:06 am #655186
celeste17ParticipantWhere is the chocolate box?
January 18, 2009 at 5:14 am #655187
pigeonmomParticipantDowntown. On Pine between 1st & 2nd.

AnonymousInactiveLittle Pat’s Place between Whitecenter and Burien (13611 Ambaum – in a strip mall at the SW corner of an intersection with a traffic signal) is an inexpensive, old-fashioned diner that I really like. They always have very good Health Dept. inspection results, too (omit the apostrophe if you search for Health Dept. records).
