PibalParticipantGo no further than James Heating And More for furnace, water heater, and fireplace work:

Our story:
The furnace quit during those sub-40 degree days last Sunday – fan only and no heat. First place to check for a repair technician of course was our very own West Seattle Blog Recommendations section. I saw positive comments about West Seattle native James Heating and left a phone message on Sunday evening to make an appointment for Tuesday (our work schedules on Monday couldn’t be adjusted). Within an hour – on Sunday evening! – we received a call from Elizabeth penciling us in on Tuesday afternoon after a furnace installation.
Regrettably for James, the furnace installation was a nightmare. The manufacturer had sent the wrong parts and the only alternative was to completely rewire the furnace – a four hour job. Elizabeth kept us informed throughout the afternoon with a play by play and what impact it would have on our appointment. At 8:00 PM, just as it looked like we were going to have to roll our repair into the next day, James knocked on the door and we went to work.
90 minutes later, after a host of technical tune-up issues and a new thermostat, we were back in warmth. James had bypassed his dinner at home to serve us. Needless to say, we were both incredulous and deeply thankful.
In James’ own words: “When it comes to taking care of my fellow West Seattleites, I’ll be there – whatever it takes.”
We can vouch for that! RAVE!

PibalParticipantSorry about the double post. I didn’t know a recommendation entry would also go straight to the discussion forum.
Tracy, I was unable to delete my post. Feel free to delete this entire thread and keep the RAVE. Thanks!

HPDoxieMemberJust wanted to post a quick kudos about James Heating as I recently had him service my furnace. All around great service and a really nice guy, too. Plus, he is local to WS!!

MLRMemberJames was so AWESOME that I created a log in just to write this review! We are first time homeowners that decided to get out furnace serviced just to be on the safe side. He amazing! Very helpful, informative, and honest. He commented on other little things we should do as he went along and answered all of my (dumb, ignorant) new home owner questions.
It is a husband and wife business and his wife was very helpful on the phone. I can’t believe my amazing luck to find them at the beginning of my home owner experience!
