luckymom30ParticipantWe need recommendations for places for ear piercing, perferably in West Seattle but downtown is ok. Looking for a clean, and friendly place for our daughter to get her ears pierced. She is abit nervous but ready to have them done.

BlendParticipanthow about one of the tattoo shops? haha. That would have been awesome if my mom took me to a tattoo shop to get my ears pierced.
but seriously.. I don’t know if they have them here. They do it at the mall at the kiosks for free. You just have to buy a pair of ear rings.

jissyParticipantluckymom — I had my ears pierced at Menashe’s over 20 years ago as have all of my nieces (more recently) as well — they do a great job and of course have high quality studs.

HelperMonkeyParticipantI think Jan’s Beauty Supply does ear piercing.

Veteran WisdomMemberPlease do not go to any of the piercing kiosks that use piercing “guns” here is one link to many you can find readily online regarding this topic: http://tattoo.about.com/cs/psafety/a/piercing_guns.htm

timeslidParticipantAdmiral Tattoo by the Blockbuster was fantastic. They do a very clean and professional job.

JanSParticipantAdmiral Tattoo is in the process of relocating to S. Jackson St. in Pioneer Square…I would call first before going to the storefront in the Adm. District.
June 24, 2010 at 5:27 pm #697390
BlendParticipantdang it.

Veteran WisdomMemberAdmiral Tattoo has moved and taken their phone number with them to the new shop. The new shop is called Royal Blue Tattoo owned by the original owner of Admiral Tattoo and West Seattle native “Bluez” The opening is scheduled for this weekend, but I don’t believe they have a piercer booked for the shops opening.

luckymom30ParticipantThanks to all!
June 25, 2010 at 3:29 pm #697393
bsmommaParticipantI know Menashe’s does it but you have to be a certain age. They don’t do babies ears. Blues Rocks! So bummed that they moved but I’ll travel for a tattoo! There’s also Alki Tattoo. Not sure if they do piercings though.

dmtippyMemberI know this is not in West Seattle be I took my 11 year old daughter to a tattoo and piercing studio up in the U district (cant remember its name but it was on the Ave). They treated her so nice, VERY clean, sterilized equipment and the guy was very professional. Took his work seriously and like an art. They don’t uses the “guns” and therefore can get a more accurate placement. He actually did one of her lobes over because “he was just not happy with the results and wanted them to be perfect”. Plus it was kind of fun to go some place different.

dmtippyMemberJust looked up the studio in the U district. Deep Roots. It was also recommended by a friend how has looks of tattoos and piercings.

westcoastdebParticipantyou guys make me want another piercing. It will have to wait till I see my piercing specialist in Va when I go on vacation, but…
June 25, 2010 at 10:57 pm #697397
KimberleyParticipantWhere in VA Deb? I have a great piercer in Richmond.
June 25, 2010 at 11:06 pm #697398
JasperbluParticipantI would ABSOLUTELY recommend a professional piercer, either at a tattoo studio, or at a piercing studio. Do NOT get pierced w/ a “gun”! (and yes, I’ve multiple tattoos and piercings)
Some physicians will pierce ears by the way, check w/ your childs doctor.
June 26, 2010 at 12:49 am #697399
westcoastdebParticipantI actually will be around Richmond. If your piercer is named Luna, I will do a jig. She kicks butt. Who do you know over there? And really, how?
June 26, 2010 at 12:55 am #697400
dgirlMemberBlues has actually purchased Admiral Tattoo and is bringing his own art and professionalism to piercing and tattoo art. It will have a new name, but the best artists and nicest guys you can ever know for piercing will be there. Please bring your daughter to a local spot, you won’t regret it.
June 26, 2010 at 4:03 am #697401
KimberleyParticipantFriend’s now ex-husband gave me a tattoo back in ’04, he was an apprentice for Red Dragon. Nick’s still there and has a fantastic portfolio. Beth was my piercer.
June 26, 2010 at 5:56 pm #697402
yeah-meParticipantI took my little girl to Jan’s and it was a great experience. They are professional and affordable. My daughter is so excited because today is the day she gets to remove her original earrings and put new ones in!
June 26, 2010 at 10:43 pm #697403
HelperMonkeyParticipantI don’t know how Admiral Tattoo is with piercings, but they’re not so great with the tattoos, IMO. Just my experience, yours may vary.
June 26, 2010 at 10:56 pm #697404
luckymom30ParticipantHow old is your daughter yeah-me? Just wondering how she did.
June 27, 2010 at 4:50 pm #697405
yeah-meParticipantLuckymom30 — she is a few weeks shy of 8. She didn’t cry when they were pierced, but her little friend (same age) did. She is still learning to put the new ones in — but is great at cleaning and taking them out.
The gals at Jan’s were really, really nice and made a big deal out of it. It was the other little girls birthday present.
June 27, 2010 at 9:37 pm #697406
luckymom30ParticipantThanks yeah-me! Our daughter is 9 1/2 and really wants he ears pierced but is abit apprehensive. I have 3 piercings in 1 ear and 2 in the other and I am the biggest chicken when it comes to needles and pain. Do they use the ear gun or a needle? I am really interested in hering how your daughter was so calm and brave.
June 28, 2010 at 4:06 pm #697407
yeah-meParticipantThey used a gun and it was pretty quick. They also marked the spot first so that I could verify that they were straight and in the best location. Maybe part of why she was so calm is that she had her friend with her and she opted to go first. i think she felt she had to complete the job!
