Glad you feel better. Probably little benefit in going to the manager tomorrow. Enjoy your holiday and go some time during the three day weekend. Take your grocery receipt and the parking ticket with you. I trust Safeway will be reasonable and help you in some way. Let us know.

I’ve parked down there but now I will be wary.

Been there, done that, taking Carson to the Vet. Ticket fixed no problem.

Good to know Carson, thanks! Did you take the issue to Diamond or to the vet?

Flowerpetal, yes waiting a few days would probably be a better idea :-). This is just one of those things that really irritate me.I would much rather spend my hard earned cash with the local WS merchants that the parking vultures.

Go and take pictures of the signage advertising the free parking, and a picture of where he was parked, along with the lack of attendant. When I dealt with a situation in which Diamond (another lot) claimed I hadn’t paid, I was allowed to submit proof via email – likely you can argue it with them, while being nice and patient of course.

I don’t don’t the procedure for the free/validated parking at that garage, for Safeway customers, but back when I worked in the parking business, (not Diamond) standard procedure at the prepay lots was to place a violation envelope on any unpaid cars, with the maximum daily rate showing in the “Amount Due” box, since there was no way for the roving checker to know how long the customer was planning to park. (It sounds like Diamond has actually tacked on an additional fee).

All the customer had to do, was put in the proper payment for the actual time parked, (or proper validation), and the “violation” would be marked off of the records.

Understandably, customers freak out when they are not used to the system, and get that notice!

I was very happy after dealing with that for about my first six weeks with the company, to be able to move to the inside portion of the garage, where the customer was issued a ticket upon arrival, then paid, or presented the properly validated ticket upon picking up their car.

I got a ticket once through them and had paid through the phone because the box was reporting the wrong amount to be paid. I called and told them that I had paid via the text message feature and they were able to verify and dismiss the ticket. Wait until Monday when they open and call or email and they will handle it.

Call Diamond’s office and explain the situation. I’ve found them to be reasonable.

The City of Belleuve has contracted with Diamond to patrol the few streets that allow parking. I found a “warning” tag on my car just 45 minutes after parking in a 2 hour zone. I called them as a courtesy to let them know their system is faulty but instead of getting a “good to know, thanks”, I got a “that’s your word against ours”. I was shocked. There was no money violation here, I had no motive, but the woman made it clear she thought I was lying. Effem.

We followed what Maplesyrup said, we called Diamond direct, they fixed it easy enough.
