    Hello! We need a contractor for a small remodel job in our home, which includes removing a wall and sealing off a door. Anyone have any recommendations? I’d appreciate hearing from people who have personally hired the contractor you recommend, as opposed to contractors themselves or real estate agents racking up referrals. Thanks!!

    I am also looking for a contractor for a small job (heated flooring/framing/drywall). I’ve checked out most of the contractors mentioned in other threads but they won’t touch jobs under $15K. If anyone has any recommendations for individuals or companies that work on small jobs I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    Check out the local website ubersquare.com. You can post your project and get bids on the work. I just completed a small bathroom upgrade this way and couldn’t be happier with the result. There are all sorts of jobs posted—not just contractor type stuff. It’s a great resource!

    My fiance just started his own business, DSS Construction Co. He is specializing in home improvement projects under 10k. He has ample experience and the projects listed above sound right up his alley.     I really recommend West Seattle Design Build (206) 938-0174. Their website is http://www.wsdesignbuild.com. They have the ability to think outside of the box. They completed an amazing interior remodel for us that was completed on time and with a great attention to detail.
