Anyone have any recommendations for Christmas tree farms/cut your own tree places near West Seattle (within 40 miles or so..)? Nothing fancy, just fresh trees. Thanks.

Looks like they’re all online, Puget Sound Christmas Tree Association:

A couple just a ferry ride away:

And to the south and north too.

Not a tree farm, but you can get really beautiful fresh trees from the UW Forestry Club’s annual fundraiser. They raise the trees in a power line right-of-way in the foothills as a way to learn sustainable forestry practices. They are mostly nobles with very full foliage.

You order your tree, they cut it on a Saturday and you pick it up the next day at the Center for Urban Horticulture parking lot on campus. The only potential drawback is that there’s only one day you can pick them up every year; this year, it’s next Sunday. Order deadline is Wednesday, Dec 4. Here’s the order form: http://www.cfr.washington.edu/holidaytreesale2009.pdf

We have done this for several years now, and have been very pleased with them!
