On this last Seattle garbage-recycling-yardwaste bill I was charged for 2 extra units of yardwaste.
So back in the before-times we had 64-gallon yardwaste containers, same size as the ‘recycling’ containers only with a tan lid.
When SPU changed up the program they did away with the 64-gallon container and went to a 32 gallon -or- a 96-gallon, BUT, I called SPU and they were allowing folks to keep the 64-gallon container and put out an additional bundle or 32-gallon container of yardwaste.
Until this year, apparently. So, all you folks out there with the old yardwaste containers (and I saw a lot of them while driving around W. Seattle today) keep an eye on your bill!
Makes me wonder if other folks who have the old 64-gallon bin are getting charged for 96-gallons and don’t know that they should be able to put out an additional bundle at no charge.
