    Greetings fellow West Seattleites,

I have narrowed my search for hip physical therapy to these two businesses (Bio-Junction Sports Therapy & West Seattle Swedish Rehabilitation) and would like to hear any experiences you may have had with either of them, good or bad… Thanks ~

Sorry for the off-topic question, CC but your name immediately caught my eye.

I was fortunate enough to attend Western WA U. when Dr. Taylor was still lecturing. And one of his most famous lectures to undergrads was indeed, “Counting Coup”. Any relationship to your handle??

No Worries WakeFlood, unfortunately there isn’t a connection there. Sounds like an interesting subject lecture ~

Dr. Taylor was quite the character and he took joy in sharing his considerable knowledge of native tribe cultures with the youngsters who had been raised watching westerns and F-Troop.

Which makes me wonder if anyone ever recorded those lectures? Hmm…

It would be a shame if they weren’t. Maybe that is your New Years task, to help ensure indigenous people of our location will get their fair shake in todays history against the insurmountable odds of Hollywood and historical ethnic cleansing we tend to write out of our public school history lessons… BTW if you happen to come across those lectures, please let me know, I would love to check them out as they appear to have made quite a positive impact with you :-)

I had a great experience at Bio-Junction Sports Therapy. I went there for a few months with my frozen shoulder. All the therapists I saw were very knowledgable and efficient. I didn’t have any problems getting appointments (once I was an established pt), they ran on schedule and were good about billing my insurance in a timely fashion. An added plus: finding parking was never a problem.

Thanks me on 28th Ave SW…

I did like my initial experience going in and talking to the front desk and one of the PT’s, its great to hear your experience was good. I like that they advertise the PT spends the whole session with you rather than give you to a PT helper/intern aka “West Seattle Physical Therapy”…

I’ve been to Bio-Junction twice recently. Seems like a good organization and the people are really nice, but I can’t speak to their results yet.

I went to WS Swedish for instruction on exercises to address my lumbar scoliosis and didn’t get what the doctor ordered. It was very perfunctory and the therapist didn’t identify the movements I was doing improperly in my usual exercise routine. My sense was it may have been a bit outside of the routine for these folks. Based on other patients I saw, it seems they treat lots of hip replacement patients, so they may be fine with that work. I eventually went to a physical therapist elsewhere who is a back specialist and received an outstanding workup and instruction, so I’m certain it was a matter of skill. Based on other patients I saw at WSS, it seems they treat lots of hip replacement patients, so they may be fine with that routine work.

I used Bio-J last summer for a running injury and I was very happy with them. I’d definitely use them again if I need(fingers crossed) too.
