    Driving home this evening on the typically busy viaduct, I was startled to see a guy on a bike whiz past in between lanes! I’ve been commuting on 99 for years and that’s the first time I’ve *ever* seen that! Isn’t it illegal? Certainly seems mightily stupid.

    Sounds like mental illness or someone who never rode in Seattle before and just got themselves into a lot of trouble. I hope they made it out okay.

    WSDOT says the viaduct specifically is closed to bicycles–well, all of 99 from the Battery Street tunnel to Spokane, really.

    Technically one can ride on other segments of 99, though personally I wouldn’t try it.
