I just took out very good clam chowder from Salty’s. I was with Patio Pam who is a clam chowder snob and she liked it too. We also liked the bread and crackers they provided.

It’s a no-brainer that we liked “The Charleston’s” Clam Chowder. Some folks may not know that “The Porterhouse” had Clam Chowder that was RIDICULOUSLY good… but where do we go now?

If you haven’t had clam chowder at the Celtic Swell with a piece of their soda bread you are really missing something!

Problem is they only make it occasionally!

But I keep The Celtic Swell on speed dial. And whenever Patio is a little down I find out if they are making up a batch. It’s her favorite in the world…

So if Celtic Swell isn’t making up a batch, where should I go? Salty’s?

Give the Ivar’s Clam Chowder a try. Not the same as dining out, but you can find it at Thriftway, and it is pretty good in my opinion. Add a little truffle salt if you really want to kick it up a notch.

    My personal favorite is Duke’s.

West Seattle Fish House! On 35th between Barton and Henderson–I’ve sampled both their clam and shrimp chowders while waiting for fish and chips (they’re still newish and eager to please, the samples are quite generous), and they are both to die for, though the shrimp chowder is particularly delicious. So far everyone I’ve taken there agrees. Give them a try!
