I recently moved close to the junction and I’m wondering how people handle living with the loud music for several days.

It’s only two days for the music, Sunday hardly counts as that stage shouldn’t be loud. I’d suggest trying to enjoy the festivities. There is a lot more going on than just the music. Or if you can’t handle the crowds it is a good time to go explore Lincoln Park. Should be nice and quiet that weekend.

Go ride your bike Seattle to Portland (STP) that weekend with Cascade Bicycle Club

    • Kelly May 31, 2025 (10:26 am)

      They have a great time!

It’s two days. It ends at 11pm. We live a few blocks away and we either enjoy it from a distance, or turn on our own music (KEXP!).

If you can’t handle for two days why did you move close to the Junction?

    • Paul Mcguiness June 2, 2025 (11:44 am)

We enjoy ourselves and don’t complain about it.

I am not asking for advice on what I should do with my time.

    • Junction resident May 31, 2025 (10:38 am)

Then why did you even ask? If you’re asking about how do you mentally that’s something you need to decide for yourself. How about relax and just lean into it.     It’s a fun weekend for the community and a little extra noise for a couple of days is worth the little boost of business our neighborhood gets. Your response was unnecessary towards people that were just trying to be kind when they could’ve just ignored you and your passive aggressive complaining.

Technically you are asking for advice. But yeah, you don’t really want advice, you want to passively aggressively complain about an event in a sad attempt to gain sympathy for your choices. You are not a victim here.

  • Huh? May 31, 2025 (11:05 am)

But you were “wondering” what other people do?

The Junction is the center of activity for West Seattle and is known and embraced (Easy Street!!) for being loud, not the place for hermetic silence seekers.
I choose to enjoy the loud music event once a year like thousands of others.
And here in West Seattle, noises from illegal fireworks, gunfire , helicopters and loud vehicles are year around.
Not to give advice, but many find ear plugs or better yet, noise canceling earphones effective.

Wow. I was simply curious.  Have you ever been in a new environment and wondered what it’s like for others? And I never complained about the festival.

    • Huh May 31, 2025 (4:07 pm)

“Wondering how people can handle living…” while  not specifically a complaint,  may not be a positive way to introduce yourself to the community.
      Welcome to West Seattle.
I hope you get out  and enjoy the Junction.

It is clear that my simple question was misinterpreted.  I am a long time member of West Seattle and recently moved close to the junction. As the festival approaches I have been wondering what it will be like to live so close. I thought I’d ask what it’s like for others.  That’s all, no underlying judgment, no passive aggressive complaining.   Just a new neighbor asking a question.
