From the ‘dumped and maybe stolen’ file: Abandoned kids’ bicycle

The photo and report are from Doug: “This bike was dumped at 44th and Genesee last week, it was on the median for a couple of days so I brought it to my house hoping it could be re-united with its owner.” If it’s yours, let us know and we’ll connect you.

I know this bike. It is neither lost nor stolen. It belonged to a family who recently moved to Arbor Heights from a house in south Admiral. On the day they moved they put out a handful of unwanted items (including this bike) on the parking strip and those items disappeared while the bike lingered. Since they didn’t take the time to put a sign on the bike offering it for free, people must have assumed that it was just a child’s bike that had been left outside. It it remained propped up against a tree for weeks until it disappeared recently. Someone with less respect for other people’s property eventually must have come along and ridden off on the bike, abandoning it when the tire gave out.

That’s great to know!  I will fix it up and donate it :)

Sorry, comment time is over.
