West Seattle Crime Watch: Recognize the burglar who hit Meeples Games early today?

Another business burglary overnight … this time at Meeples Games (WSB sponsor). Co-proprietor Laura Schneider shares the photo above from their surveillance camera, and a partial list of what the burglar stole:

This guy has been here before and knew exactly what he was doing so he may be identifiable by a reader. He’s small – a little over 5’ tall. He climbed around to the balcony and broke in the back.

Stolen:

Booster packs for Magic including OGW, BFZ, Origins, DTK, FRF, and KTK. Also YuGiOh! packs of Clash of Rebellions, Dimensions of Chaos, Breaker of Shadows and Dragons of Legend.

All of our FNM and Buy a Box promo cards, all of our red, green, black and white singles. He left the blue and the lands. A box of about 400 full art lands. Various other singles we are working to name, but here are a few:

I am so sorry to hear this…Meeples has been a great addition to our neighborhood . My older kids love to hang out there on Saturday evening….we will continue to frequent the establishment

Not knowing a lot about the cards should pawn shops be on the alert

Also, ask the 7/11 if they have footage. He is either bearded or wearing a mask. There are not that many short people. Do you have footage during business hours in the store (i.e. casing it)? Second, ask the landlord to upgrade the video–this is not the first burglary at this general location.

Can we raise money to get better cameras? My $30 web camera takes better images! We love you Meeples. Know how much it hurts a small business to lose so much. Hope your insurance will cover and if not, please don’t be shy about asking for donations! Or have a fundraiser party to replace your stock!

I don’t know how small shops make it today. Between B&O taxes,vandals, shoplifters and thieves like this guy it’s an all uphill battle.

It looks like the aspect ratio of the surveillance photo is stretched wider than it should be. It might be easier for someone to recognize the individual in the photo if the aspect ratio was displayed correctly.

It almost appears as if he is wearing one of those beenie beard hats. I take it Meeples doesn’t have a security camera inside the store. Hope they find this guy and recover their goods (I have no idea what any of that stuff is. It’s like a foreign language reading the list).

And, for those concerned, we do have cameras inside the store, but he wore a mask inside. This outside picture is from the building’s cameras and is the only shot we have without the mask. Good thing for outside cameras!

This is the same guy that broke into my truck a few weeks ago. He cased the neighborhood, watch both my neighbor and I head out for dinner and then kicked in both of our windows and climed into our cars to see what he could steel. I forgot my wallet so headed back to grab it. The cops took a report.

I love how he dressed in black(with a reflective stripe) and still manages to somehow elude the shadows and cross into the light. Game plan man.. Stick to the game plan :P Glad he was caught.
