West Seattle restaurants: Opening day at Redline WS

One week after our sneak peek inside sports bar/restaurant Redline WS, it’s officially open as of today. We stopped by for a photo a short time ago, after getting word they’re ready for customers. Here’s manager Chris Ramsey with the beer taps:

They’re open 11 am-2 am for starters; the menu is now online. You’ll find Redline WS on the ground floor of The Residences at 3295, on the southeast corner of 35th/Avalon, with some parking available in the building’s garage.

Been so excited for this place to open!!! Will be stopping by soon!

Went there last night for Monday Night Football. Didn’t realize it was opening day. Staff was great. The even introduced themselves and asked me what my name was! Nice touch I thought. I ordered one of their Slider Platters. Big food. It was a lot! Pizzas looked good too. For a first night the staff was working well together and solving those opening day problems. If your going for a game you’d better get a seat early. That place packed out last night. Yes, I will go back!

Dare I ask, will international football (aka soccer) matches be televised here…?

  • coffee November 5, 2013 (1:47 pm)

Drove by last night, INSANITY with all of those TVs. Definately will not be a place for me. Wish them luck!

  • WSeaGuy November 5, 2013 (2:01 pm)

Doesn’t look like they have enough tvs.

    • WSB November 5, 2013 (2:12 pm)

30 screens in all, per our story last week. We did not have time to count while there today.
      .
Re: person who was there last night – they did indeed say last week that they’d do some friends/family soft opens before announcing (as they did today) that they’re open, which is fairly standard in the restaurant industry.

Re: the website – I don’t know if it’s a browser thing; opened for me last night, didn’t open on last try. If that persists, we’ll just remove the link.

I thought it rather ironic that the first two words of their slogan are “friends, family”. Wasn’t that the financing scheme that eventually put the developer in hot water?

  • Pigeon on the Point November 5, 2013 (2:26 pm)

They kept the boring color scheme of the building that occupies it. Call it Redline if you want, but it looks more like a flatline environment to me.

  • Bailey November 5, 2013 (2:50 pm)

Pigeon on the Point… You sound like a really fun person. I bet your life is just one big ball of fun!

I have gone onto their website on both Chrome and IE.When I get to menu, it says they have sliders, pizza, salads, etc., and wings. But you can’t click on the headings for each and get a full menu. They go nowhere.

Great to know! I’ll be excited to try it…

Pigeon on the point….if you have nothing nice to say than don’t say anything at all.
This is someones dream, so for those that just like to be negetive and are afraid to go for it, keep it to yourself.
You go Mike, I will be there one night this week!

  • Brand New November 5, 2013 (4:14 pm)

The place is brand new, for gosh sake.

    Patience.

  • Wendell November 5, 2013 (4:25 pm)

It’s a pigeon… pooping on things is what they do well.

I hope they show the World Cup games.

On the sports link page, just below the Sonics icon.. Love it, says:
‘Relocation Headquarters!’ Love it and the positive thinking!!

Is this the same owner who was running the biz when it was across the street at the current Bridge? Will they have live music?

    • WSB November 5, 2013 (4:57 pm)

Jeff, if you follow the link to our story from last week – Scott Goerig, who owned the Redline in the previous Bridge space, is a consultant for this establishment; Mike Bauer is the owner. Live music is not currently in the plan.

I’m excited to have a sports bar in West Seattle. Happy that’s these folks are running it too. Thanks for opening the place up!!

  • zipline November 5, 2013 (5:58 pm)

How many parking spaces do they have in that building?

  • Yuppem November 5, 2013 (7:05 pm)

    congrats and best of luck!

  • JesseD November 5, 2013 (7:06 pm)

Great…been looking forward to this place opening. I’ll be hopping on the 21 for the Sounders game on Thursday. No parking woes or DUI’s for me.

Had dinner here tonight w/the family…food was fine, service was fine. It’s missing something though – too much of a chain restaurant feel, especially in the family section. Maybe they’re not finished with the decor yet…very bland, sterile. Major mistake with the booths…sitting in them made you feel like a giant. Completely scaled wrong to the tables. With some tweaks, it would be a more inviting place.

  • WSFoodie November 6, 2013 (9:01 am)

I went there last night with my family. I peeked into the bar section which seemed a little more interesting, but the family section was kind of a disappointment. I hate to say that and hope that maybe they just aren’t done decorating. It was super bright and sterile, the booth seats were too tall for the short tables and the TVs were too high up to comfortably watch. Also, little touches felt very corporate and not friendly – like asking if you want ranch or blue cheese with your wings and if you ask for both, charging $2 extra. It felt like a chain, not a neighborhood sports bar. The food was fine and service was fine. Tons of slider options on the menu that looked good. I’ll give it another try without the kiddos and see if maybe the bar section is better.

Sad to see WSU has defaced the place – would have preferred to see only local teams on the wall. It’s a joke! It’s a joke! Seriously, who considers what WSU puts on the field a “team”.

Actually, given the location, I was gonna suggest that WSHS, CSHIS, O’Dea, Seattle Prep and Seattle Lutheran “art” be added to the walls. Seems like a great before or after place for West Seattle Stadium.

    Go Dawgs!

  • Smitty November 6, 2013 (11:27 am)

“who considers what WSU puts on the field a “team”. ”

    State Champs rule.

Plus, in case you didn’t know – Cougs love to drink. Smart move.

  • Brian November 6, 2013 (11:30 am)

Drive by last night coming home from the gym and noticed they were open. Looks like a nice place for some wings, beer, and some video games and tv watching. I will definately be in and hope they have much success!!

  • Curtis November 6, 2013 (12:08 pm)

You mean WSU is playing for the AAAA State Championship? How’s Skyline doing this year? Oh, wait the Cougs will need to be in the AA tournament – guess they do like to drink……..

Ok, ok – enough of this nonsense for now. We’ve got a few weeks until the Huskies take back bragging rights. Hope the Redline is packed and has a vocal crowd that afternoon. I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of WSU fans picking up the tab. :-)

    Go Dawgs!

  • solidarity November 7, 2013 (12:06 am)

    Do they make chocolate shakes?

  • Rick Armstrong November 10, 2013 (4:17 pm)

most enjoyable time was there Saturday afternoon only problem I could find was parking but the atmosphere was great walked in was greeted by numerous people ended up sitting in the family friendly section only to watch families command and the kids enjoyed being with their parents in the sports bar atmosphere who was reasonably priced good taste and all the staff seems to help each other out to make sure everybody’s does it was great

Sorry, comment time is over.
