One of tonight’s two games is over: West Seattle High School beat Ingraham at Northwest Athletic Complex, 28-0. ADDED EARLY SATURDAY: Game notes and a video clip, after the jump:
From WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand:
West Seattle managed to exploit the Ingraham offense on Friday night to pull of a 28-0 win. It was a big night for senior Bobby Sabay, who picked off a pass and ran it back 30 yards in the last minutes of the game, setting up this touchdown by Travis Madison:
Earlier in the fourth quarter while acting as punter, Sabay managed to turn a bad snap into a 12-yard run that got West Seattle a first down. On the next series he managed to get a punt off despite another bad snap which saw him pursued by three Ingraham defenders.
Madison also had a good night, as he too picked off a pass near the Ingraham end zone and ran it in for a score at the start of the second quarter.
Next weekend, it’s the traditional annual Huling Bowl crosstown-rivalry match between WSHS and Chief Sealth.
