Reader report: Fence crash ends “Thriftway getaway”

truckvfence.jpg

A resident of the townhouses behind Thriftway in Morgan Junction came home to that scene a couple hours ago – and says it was reportedly related to a suspected shoplifting attempt at the nearby store. Police were questioning one person; two others reportedly ran after the truck crashed into the fence. No injuries.

It is a cute truck, too bad the only thing it got them was Mike’s Hard Lemonade – that was taken away by the police.

Note to self, remember to drive a get-a-way vehicle with power steering. Hmm, the term a$$hat comes to mind again. Have a Happy Day all. :)

Wow. I live right behind there and didn’t even know this had happened. That is a nice looking truck but it’s funny how in the picture it looks like the fence is unharmed and the front of the truck has all the damage.

Say what you want about the design of the current era of townhouses, the builders can at least construct a damn sturdy fence!

Looks to me like there may be utility pole cables that actually stopped the truck – not the fence. Take another look at the photo. I don’t think those are all tow truck cables…

Why would you use such a memorable get-away car? Can’t be too many cute, old red and white trucks in the area.

The other day, someone posted about a red and white truck with two guys in it looking for metal on the 3100 block of Elmgrove – my ‘hood. They took her yard art… I wonder if this is the same white and red truck guys. It’d be worth finding out if they are branching out into new areas of unneighborly conduct.

Sorry, comment time is over.
