Hate to post this here, but you (curiously) turned off comments in the appropriate post – https://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=4880 – please don’t stifle discussion on your fine blog by herding people to forums. IMO it kind of undercuts the purpose of a good blog – to discuss the issues, right there and then.

Hi. We don’t intend to make a practice of “herding people off to forums” – in that particular case, though, we posted the item only to let people know it’s being discussed in the forums if they want to participate there. We also try to keep the rate of such intrasite marketing down but we also know that with such a heavy posting volume, if someone hasn’t checked the site for a day or two they might not even know the forums exist, so we’re going to have to mention them in this way now and then for a while, till we’re sure that everyone who would care, knows they exist.

Sorry, comment time is over.
