Pinniped protection at Luna Park

The Seal Sitters aren’t just keeping watch at Alki – the baby seals are turning up all over the West Seattle shore. Clifton Leatherwood sent these photos (thank you!) from Luna Park this afternoon — first the blocked-off area, then the little seal resting in the shadow of a driftwood log:

Just stopped at this site to see the pup. One of the seal-sitters graciously loaned me her pair of binocs and the baby obligingly rolled over onto its side, looked around and waved its fins around. Cutest freaking thing I’ve ever seen.

Most of the people I know have always referred to this little park as “Anchor Park,” referring to the large anchor at its entrance. Or even Duawamish Head.
Is it officially named “Luna Park”?
    Just wondered.

Sorry, comment time is over.
