REMINDER: Juneteenth closures tomorrow

Just a quick reminder before the day’s out – the Juneteenth holiday tomorrow (Thursday, June 19) will bring various closures, particularly in government-operated facilities. Seattle Public Library and King County Library System branches will all be closed; so will many Seattle Parks facilities. Juneteenth is also a US Postal Service holiday and banking holiday.

I’m glad we aren’t letting any opportunities for commerce go to waste here. 100% efficiency on making sure everything is about commodification and transactions. Love to see it.

I am glad people are excited about sales and parking and what not but this holiday should be spent partially celebrating black culture. Hopefully there’s some events centered around this in West Seattle.

The Stranger (newspaper) listed the  events around Seattle. I’m gonna check out. Here’s the link: https://everout.com/seattle/juneteenth/

There are none in West Seattle, listed there or elsewhere, nor sent to us. Trust me, I’ve looked. (And if anyone knows of something unlisted but open to community members, please advise!) -TR
