A really safe place to have been this afternoon

Spotted passing Admiral Heights a few hours ago — this sizable contingent of Seattle Police on two-wheeled patrol. (TUESDAY UPDATE: SPD tells us this was an exercise for officers who hope to join the bike patrol – they get put through some tough paces on WS hills among other spots all over the city!)

For reasons WSB should understand…I want an expalnation! This pic might provide insight into why it takes them an hour to respond to a “non-emergency” call.

By the way….don’t bother trying to stop grafitti artists or kids that do property damage. The police can’t respond in time and you’ll probably wind up in jail yourself if you attempt to stop them.

Cops on bikes in this are doesn’t work becuase its harsh suburban terrain. Lots of hills around here.

Cops on bikes are actually more effective at stopping things like graffiti and vandalism because they do a better job at establishing presence in a community or area. Also, their flexible mobility allows them to more easily police areas where cars wouldn’t normally patrol, such as alleyways and parking lots.

Sorry, comment time is over.
