35th SW, center of the WS spiritual universe

From Freedom Church and Eckankar to the south, on toward Our Lady of Guadalupe to the north and beyond, the area of West Seattle showing the most spiritual growth seems to be a 3-mile-ish stretch of 35th SW. Not only is Gatewood Baptist moving there … not only has Mars Hill chosen this stretch of street as its new home … now, a new neighbor has suddenly manifested itself a couple blocks south of MH at the ex-Adventist site, and its grand opening is just days away. And given what this spiritual “center” seems to be about, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the MH folks staging pray-ins outside to try to save them from h-e-double-hockey sticks (and the Temenos folks can just out-healing-vibe them right back):

to the topic at hand, I saw this property when looking for some lease space – in the listing it said the owner would covert to automotive use. I would argue that would have been a better use.

Oh well, I give this place 6 months….

Don’t have a preference on the church scene, but as I take my beer very seriously, put me firmly in the Mac n Jacks camp! I wish Talerico’s had it, but then I’d probably never leave.

Talarico’s doesn’t have Mac & Jack’s anymore? Haven’t been in a while, I guess. Georgetown Brewery has swayed me because 1) They’re closer 2) $5 growlers vs $7 at M&J. In a head to head taste test it would be a tough choice though. Can I choose both?

How did a church post degenerate into beer discussion? :)

It’s all within you, whether you know it or not, and whether you like it or not. I don’t do churches or spiritual centers, but I most definitely believe that we all have the potential to be spiritual, and that it’s up to the individual.
Throw away the denominations and the window dressings and just be true to yourself.
