JanSParticipantIf you are into good reads about our country, and the election coming up, and concerned about how all of this will go, and what has changed, and Donald Trump, then this is a great read for you. It’s from The Atlantic. It’s really long, so make sure you have a bit of time. But it’s fascinatingly interesting. And you don’t have to agree. It could be the start of a very interesting conversation on here, for sure.

JayDeeParticipantJan:
Like Calvin exclaims when looking to warm up a burrito “Six minutes to microwave? Who’s got that kinda time?”
Today I saw the first sign of the Apocalypse: A T(Rump) bumper sticker on a pickup driven by…wait for it…an older white male. Makes me ashamed to be one myself.

JanSParticipantare you worried/scared/frustrated yet? Paul Ryan said that he will vote for Trump. ““I feel confident he would help us turn the ideas in this agenda into laws to help improve people’s lives. That’s why I’ll be voting for him this fall,” Ryan writes in the Op-Ed.” Yeah, right….can you tell I’m a bit cynical about all this?

captainDaveParticipantSo it’s ok that Obama blew through every constitutional “guardrail” he encountered to fundamentally change America into a progressive utopia? What is it that we are “progressing” towards anyway? 7.5 years later, the Obama administration has double our debt and all but destroyed our ability to produce anything. Progressive policies have put this nation on the verge of imminent economic collapse and racial civil war. …And a moron at the Atlantic want’s to expound some senseless drivel about Trump not fitting in with failed establishment? WTF?
“…What’s different now is the massive Republican and conservative rejection of the idea that a candidate for president should know anything substantive about governing at all..” –– Well, because the government is systemically failing to do its job. Intricate knowledge about a failing systems is really not very useful. What is more important, is returning the country to processes that have a proven track record of working.
This was my favorite line that illustrates the extent of stupidity expounded by devout liberal pundits: ” Trump is running not to be president of all Americans, but to be the clan leader of white Americans.” —What’s that say about the millions of black, latino, and asian voters who support Trump?
“…Yet overhanging all the causes is the central question: Why did Republicans and conservatives react to those causes as they did? There were alternatives. Of all the alternatives for their post-Obama future, Republicans and conservatives selected the most self-destructive of the options before them. Why? What went wrong?”
On the contrary, Republicans across the nation threw the rigged game board on the floor and selected a candidate that can actually win.

JanSParticipantwe live in different worlds, Dave.

NeoWhig2016ParticipantHilarious that anyone would call David Frum a “devout liberal pundit” – just google the guy’s name. He was George Bush’s main speechwriter, for one.

NeoWhig2016ParticipantBy the way, George Bush was a Republican who led the party for eight years. You can google that too.

JanSParticipanthey, Dave…could you list those processes that have a proven record of working?
June 3, 2016 at 12:07 pm #846331
JanSParticipantHMC Rich….oh, and I don’t want to forget this. Again, substitute the name Clinton for Trump in this…and think if you would actually support this candidate for president. And ask yourself “why?”

dobroParticipant“So it’s ok that Obama blew through every constitutional “guardrail” he encountered to fundamentally change America into a progressive utopia?”
If you think the world we live in is a progressive utopia you clearly know nothing about progressives or utopias.
