Car, motorcycle collide in Arbor Heights

One person was taken to the hospital by private ambulance after their motorcycle collided with a car in Arbor Heights. It happened at California/104th; the rider’s injuries are not life-threatening, but there was a major medical response, and that plus an unrelated medic response not far away led to many a siren in AH this past hour. Our crew was told at the scene that the woman and child who were in the car are not hurt.

He’s actually at my house, waiting for tow truck driver. He never ended up going to the hospital but he’s sore but very lucky to have minimal injuries. Please slow down in intersections where there are no signs, this could’ve been avoided.

People fly through the unmarked intersections in Arbor Heights all the time, it is crazy out there. Glad he is OK.

This is the area where neighbors have been begging for safety improvements for a long time. 104th St needs safety improvements from 35th Ave to Marine View Drive. People speed by the school, occasionally run the stop sign on 39th (which is a two way stop and should be changed to a four way stop), then fly through the uncontrolled intersections to Marine View Dr. SDOT should at a minimum put yield signs for the north/south traffic from 39th to Marine View Dr.

Most of the east-west streets in Arbor Heights have problems with speeding between Marine View Dr. and 35th. Please, please send out some of those “speed trap” cops that other neighborhoods complain about – we’d LOVE to see them out here once in a while.

+1 anonyme!!! 39th & 106 is very bad too, even though there IS a 4-way stop there. We call it the “invisible stop sign” intersection. The East/West traffic is very dangerous and prone to slowing/not stopping. Very dangerous behavior observed there, often.

They should put a red blinking light and cameras then they’ll slow down or stop.
