Helicopter over Highland Park

11:42 PM: Thanks for the e-mails/texts. We’re checking. (LATER: Sorry, the fire sidetracked the investigation into what this was about. We still have inquiries out, though, and whenever we get an answer, we’ll post it here.)

SUNDAY MORNING: Southwest Precinct Lt. Alan Williams told us they did NOT have Guardian One (the area’s only law-enforcement chopper, owned/operated by King County Sheriff’s Office, but assists other agencies) out on anything. Was it a KCSO case? No word yet.

This must have circled the same area for at least 20 minutes when I got up to look, it wasn’t using a spot light, just circling. Nothing on the 11 O’clock news about it. It was very odd.

Where were the sirens? All we heard was the helicopter. Didn’t seem to be hovering much but going around and around.

Its really weird it was doing really tight circles around my house/block. I heard no sirens but there were 3 sheriffs outside they didn’t look very worried then the helicopter flew away northbound with purpose. No spotlights no flashing lights on the cars. About 5-10 minutes later we heard the sirens for the big fire. The helicopter looked like it was dark blue and white but I couldn’t tell since it was night.

Sorry, comment time is over.
