West Seattle Gas Price Watch: Heading down again

arcooctoberseventh.jpgLooks like nobody in West Seattle really had the heart to break the 3-buck barrier. Most stations’ prices are heading back down again; the title of “lowest posted price for regular unleaded” belongs to Delridge Arco (photo right) at $2.79. That’s no surprise, but this is: The highest posted price for regular unleaded is at 35th/Barton Exxon, at $2.97. The Lundberg Survey says the national average for unleaded regular is $2.75, after sliding 4 cents in the past 2 weeks. That’s fairly close to what we’ve seen since our last update two weeks ago (Delridge Arco has actually dropped 6 cents). Still a ways to go to make it to what was the lowest point since we started watching prices, $2.60s back in August.

    I paid 2.70 this moring at Safeway on Roxbury. the posted price was 2.83, which isn’t bad, but after grocery shopping I got .13 off.

    Was that one of those “buy 50 (100, whatever) bucks of groceries, get xx off gas” deals? We know about the Club Card “three cents off per gallon” deal but don’t do much grocery shopping at Safeway so aren’t familiar with their additional incentives.

    yes. Spending $50 in groceries gives one an extra .10 off per gallon. We tend to shop and fill up once every 2 weeks. (We have only the one car and both work near home.)

    Not that the two go together but what would be *really* useful is a Beer Price Watch. Maybe 3-5 categories i.e. Micro, Mexico, Ur’op, and BBS* avail @ local retailers.

    So all the grocery chains, certain local markets, Costco and ???

    Micro could be broken out by {lrg and small batchers}…

    BBS = bargain basement swill

    …let it fly

    Sorry pal, we are just not beer people. Much as we appreciate our friends at Beveridge Place, Schooner Exact, Elliott Bay Brewery, and other WS beer-related concerns. But if you start one up, let us know, we’ll link to it!

    Hey WSB, Thanks for the continued support!

Sorry, comment time is over.
