Big news from WSDOT: The project is 5 days ahead of schedule and should be done by the end of next week. REMINDER: Tonight the WS Bridge onramp to NB I-5 will be closed, 10 pm-5 am. It’s supposed to reopen before tomorrow’s commute.
Hey, I’d finish quick too, if I were them. Along with being fined $100K per day for every day they go over the deadline, they are getting a $100K per day BONUS for every day UNDER! At least, that’s what I read somewhere. It’s amazing what a monetary incentive will do :)
Downside is now that folks think traffic’s not so bad they’re closing another lane until construction is done. Everyone who thinks driving tomorrow is a good idea might experience what was expected on Monday.
I don’t know, I’m suspicious of their speed. :-I Was the original 19-day estimate a ‘worst case scenario’? What will the end quality of the repairs be? We’ll find out sooner or later.
