My cockatiel bird flew out of my house. His name is Hero and he comes when called and will fly to you and sit on finger. We live on 35th and Hinds. If found quickly put him inside your jacket he will not hurt you. The first day a bird gets out which was Wednesday after he circled around disoriented, and they generally won’t fly far, by the the third day they get hungry and will come to people for food. He dances, kisses and is a sweet bird and is very loved and missed. Please call is seen or found Dawn 253-266-3354 or Dan 206-935-2988.
I used to have an Eastern Rosella, and I literally had nightmares about this happening. I am so sorry, and I hope he comes home quickly.
The lost cockatiel is believed to have been near Admiral and SW Waite yesterday afternoon, so if you live in that area, please be on the lookout and listen for sounds of a distressed bird!
We have had 2 sightings since he got out. The last one was on 39th and Charlston in west seattle. Also he loves people food and if a platen of food is sitting outside he will eat from if there are no dogs. He also loves music and when I played it he would fly to my shoulder and dance with me.
Thank you Brian and all who are keeping an eye out for Hero we look everyday too. I have heard of cockatiels flying up 13 miles from their home if the wind catches their wings it can happen. We haven’t had a sighting since last Thursday. I appreciate your concern he is a very special and unique bird. When I played music while cleaning and danced he would fly across the room to my shoulder and dances with me. Also he loved my granddaughters and would follow them and us around walking on the floor like a dog. So cute. We also adoped a kitten which grew up with Hero and they played cat and mouse chasing each other. I have faith we will find him. Some have found their birds up to 3-4 months later. We have another cockatiel who was also a rescue but he is old and not hand tamed as Hero was he misses him too.
Love Dawn
