West Seattle, Washington
14 Saturday
Domestic short hair black male neutered
By the water tower and 35 Ave SW
Taken to Seattle animal control
Did the cat have a tiny bit of white on the chest. Long tail? I’ve been providing shelter and food for a black cat for a few years and I haven’t seen him for a few days. I’m heartbroken. I am on 34th just a block away.
I did not poke around on the cat, It did have a chip though. kinda tough to look at the tail.
Thank you. I’ve reached out to animal control with pictures to see if it’s the cat I know.
Did you take it to seattle animal control in interbay? They’ve contacted me but said they have no animals brought in from 35th Ave SW. She said it would have been entered into the system and they have no record. I appreciate your time and information as we are all saddened/concerned.
I’m sorry to keep reaching out, Seattle Animal Control called me and has no record in their system of a cat being brought in from our area. Could you tell me if you took the cat to interbay seattle animal control on 15th and what time yesterday?
I took the dead cat to West seattle animlal hospital. as far as I know it would go to seattle animal shelter. but if you never checked to see if it had a chip. did you ever check to see if it was fixed? You are right I did not report it to SAS, as the vet hospital does and it was chipped. so for all I know the the owner was contacted and they took the body.?They do NOT take pictures of dead animals either. the body was a mess, so to find out if a white spot on chest may not have been option, or to determine is the tail was “long”.Per the micro chip company. Seattle animal shelter DID call the chip company. Officer Abrahamson is the one who called.. NOW per the chip company: “owner” was contacted and the “owner” said: cat no longer belongs to me. SO as much as I hate to so this, this is probably the cat you have been caring for. Oh I guess the cat I found was reported lost in July, then found. So who knows.I am pretty hard core about making sure cats are fixed. If not they tend to roam.
Thank you for your care in taking him to west seattle animal hospital. We have a lot of strays and wandering cats on our block and I try to help them if I think they don’t have a home. You’ve been a great help with providing information and I’m grateful for that. I know this was not an easy thing to be a part of.
