AndreParticipantIf anyone use the Thoroughbred Collision Center on 38th to get some bodywork done on their car — how did you like their work?
I got rear-ended on the Spokane Street viaduct and these folks work with State Farm Insurance.
Thanks,
Andre

jbdParticipantWe have used them twice. They got us in right away and the work was good. I would use them again. Good luck!

herongrrrlParticipantOur insurer recommended them for some work we needed done, and we were very pleased with it.

PDHParticipantThey were also recommended by my insurance company after I was hit. They were able to work w/my schedule and they completed work on time. The work they did on my car was good. They also were able to drop me off back at my house after I dropped off my car.

charlabobParticipantDoes anyone know where/why they got their name? They do use a horse logo and I’ve always wondered — if you ever saw a horse “crash” at a track, you probably wouldn’t name your business after it. Someday I’ll stop and ask — right after I ask the guys at the rainbow house in my neighborhood what they were thinking :-)

austinMemberI used thoroughbred (as suggested by state farm) once in 05 and someone there stole my car stereo! It was replaced, and I’m not trying to discourage anyone from using them (the offender may or may not still be employed there, it was a few years ago), but it was one of my more humorous dealings with a body shop. They literally tried to return my car to me with a gaping hole in the dashboard where the stereo unit previously lived. To their credit, they did supply me with a fancier unit than I previously had, and the body work was clean.

MrJTMemberCharlabob, from what I understand, the original Thoroughbred was the premier shop for having your 70’s muscle car repaired / painted. The name was derived from working primarily on Mustangs.

AndreParticipantThanks for all the replies! I’ll use them to take care of my rear bumper (already made an appointment for the estimate).

charlabobParticipantThanks, Mr. JT — this has bothered me since I first saw the sign. Thoroughbred collisions are not a pretty image. What you say makes sense; I should have thought of it

AndreParticipantJust a follow up on my repair. I got in within a couple of days, they got the job done as promised and even washed my car (including wheels).
I would not hesitate to use them again the next time I get rear-ended on the Spokane Street viaduct. Good work and down to earth people.

grrParticipantI’d give the guys at Alki Auto Body down in Georgetown a shout. USAA Recommended shop…A++ work.
