celeste17ParticipantI took a class at south for sign language and it was more of a class about deaf culture then a sign class. She was a fabulous signer. She has been the person in the bubble for government broadcasts doing the signing. I wish to learn more sign myself. So, if something comes up let me know.

QueMemberI took the beginning sign class at Central and it too had a lot about Deaf Culture, but I didn’t feel like it was MOSTLY culture. I felt that one of the things that she was trying to convey in the class was how much deaf culture informs the language.
Also, the owner at Abbondanza is deaf and they will often have Deaf Culture Nights there, which are fabulous and the place will be packed with people signing away all night long.
