Picking up parents tomorrow evening. Last I read this lot was someone of a nightmare to exit. Have things improved or is to be avoided?

    Thanks!

I never found the old or the new cell lot to be a nightmare, but then I guess I kind of put on my “pickin’ someone up at the airport” attitude so I don’t let it stress me out. I was at the new lot 2 weeks ago–it really was a breeze and it was extremely packed at the same time. The secret is … Don’t leave the lot until your pickupee is on the sidewalk waiting for you (so you don’t end up driving in a big trafficky circle) and agree to pick them up at “Departures,” not “Arrivals.” I was surprised to see even the airport is saying to do this now on some temp signs.

I was there yesterday, no problems at all.

If it’s after rush hour then just have them call when they land. By the time they deplane (seriously, why does that take so long?) and get their luggage it is almost perfect timing from West Seattle. We are pretty close to the bridge though, so factor your location in.

Oh, and ALWAYS pick up on the departure level at night – especially if they are flying Alaska!

I haven’t used the new lot, so can’t say. But I do the same as Smitty. I just have people call me when they land. By the time they’ve gotten off and got luggage, I’m there, or they waited only briefly. Good luck!

Agree with Sue and Smitty. Unless they’re coming in from another country. Then, have them call when they clear DHS.
