Our sweet cat Charlie passed away a week and a half ago. I called Lien Animal Clinic in tears and they were incredibly kind and instructed us how to deliver his body for cremation. We were treated with care and concern throughout the difficult process.

Today we received the most wonderful sympathy card signed by the entire staff. They took the time to send their condolences to our family. We’re really touched by their professionalism and sympathy, especially since we still miss our cat so very much.

Lien is a very good clinic. I’ve seen a couple of vets there and all were very good. The Dr. and vet tech who tended to my little dogs passing last summer were very compasionate, and explained everything to me. I’m sorry you lost your kitty, I know how painful it is. C

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Fur-babies really have a way of touching our hearts.

PS.. Charlie’s such a cool name for a cat.

I have to pipe up. I have been going to Lien for 10 years. When it was time to put down my beloved kitty, Dr Kraabel and a tech (sorry, forgot her name) came to my house and gave her a shot to relax her and then a shot of the drug (pentobarbitol?), then took a walk while she died, returning twice in an hour to administer more drug (what can I say, the kitty was a fighter), finally at my request giving her a huge dose. They walked around the neighbor to give me time alone, never pushed, never made me feel hurried, even once she was gone. They waited for my ok and they gently wrapped her in a blanket (I’m crying now at the memory of their compassion). With her ashes I received a card mentioning how she had a great life because of me, and a plaster imprint of her paw with her name under it.

Not that I cared, but the entire procedure, including cremation, was about $120.

Lien certainly has my loyal business forever!

    Lien is the best.

They’ve had our business for 15+ years, and their staff is top notch.

Strangely, I do miss the old cramped building though. Now it seems more impersonal and corporate. Luckily the staff have stayed the same.

I have to agree–the new bldg. seems less user friendly (e.g. dual entrances and dual receptionists needs some fine tuning re. facilitating communication). And, I recently had an experience where the dr. in the surgery “upstairs” seemed very remote and I never saw or spoke to her about my cat. I am very impressed (not to mention tearful) re. the comments about Lien on this blog. I do miss Dr. King. He was so incredibly down to earth and non-corporate. AMAZING “bed side” manner.

Babalou – Could the doctor have been in surgery and unable to speak with you? One of the things I love most is that the doctors never rush me, but I have had only the male docs so far.

The inside is a funny set-up now. It seems both desks perform the same functions. The candy basket is on the east desk :).

Lien has been working with my on my kitty Austin’s case. Austin has rejected his teeth and has had to have almost all of them removed. Dr Z as we call her and all the Dr’s. have never seen such a severe case such as his and had just been to a seminar about this illness. Thankfully they have been able to get him stable with just an occassional flare up which is usually taken care of with a shot.

I have too agree lien aniaml clinic is a great place back in the day and still is by the sound of it. Got my first job as a kennel boy back in the early 70’s Dr king was fun to work with as were all the vets and staff. I learned alot and it still holds a special place in my memories.

I remember taking our dogs to Lien as far back as the 70’s, some thing never change…they have always stepped up.
