IrukandjiParticipantThough we’ve been seeing MDs at Swedish here for a couple years, we had our first visit with Dr. Altemeier this weekend. Guess she was the lucky one to draw weekend shift in the middle of flu season.
Though the other MD haven’t been any cause for complaint, I have to say that the care and concern shown our family by Dr. A. was EXCEPTIONAL, from her ability to calm a child that doesn’t have enough sick time to be comfy in an MD’s office, to attention to symptomology, to unprompted home call to check in on the patient.
I’ve joked at times that I wish people could get service as attentive as what my dog gets from the vet. Kudos to Dr. Altemeier.

katiebeeParticipantOur kids have gone to Dr. Altemeier since day 1 and we love her. My kids have not responded well to Drs. Kumasaka & Shulton (or Shelton?), but they are never worried or scared seeing Dr. Altemeier. I don’t think she is taking any new patients now, but I think Dr. Evans is and she is just as great!

BonnieParticipantWe got to Dr. Altemeier too and I just love her. She is great. She has even called us at home to check on my son to see how he was doing.

WSMemberMy 2 year old sees Scholten as his primary and has seem Kumasaka many times as well. He has never had a problem with either of them. Both seem to be able to distract him and spend time to make him comfortable before they check him out.

swimcatMemberDr. Evans is wonderful- the Wednesday before Thanksgiving my daughter became sick, and after consulting the on-call doctor that night for tips, Dr. Evans called that Friday to follow up on our little girl. It’s definitely comforting for new parents to have such follow through on things like this, and I certainly wasn’t expecting that kind of service over a long holiday weekend!
Dr. Evans is very patient with new parents too, and listens well to find solutions. I’m so glad she is at WS Swedish!

carrieannMemberI’m not familiar with Dr. Evans, but we’ve seen all the others (Altemeier, Franklin, Kumasaka, Scholten and Hott. Dr. Hott being our PCP.) and honestly have zero complaints. The outcome of the visit really seems to depend on the reason we’re there (if they’re sick vs having a well-check, they aren’t going to be as behaved and receptive) and how long we’ve been waiting prior to seeing the doctor. In the 4+ years we’ve been going to Swedish Children’s Clinic, I’ve only had one negative experience, which involved an incredibly snippy nurse who told me she “didn’t have time to” fill out my son’s immunization card with the shots he was just given, and basically threw it back at me. Yikes. Haven’t seen her since, and absolutely love the place. We’re a nice walk or short drive away, and the physicians all seem to genuinely care and show real interest in our kids. I feel fortunate that we’re able to take our two little ones there and continue to recommend it to others.
