munchkin22MemberA friend at Nickelsville has acquired a Dell PP015 notebook but has no power adapter to try it out to see if it’s functional. Can anyone help out? The notebook lists adapter ADP-50SB as the one that will power it up. The individual has no income but is one of the hardest workers in camp and it would be helpful for job searches.

KenParticipantThat seems to be a dell Latitude L400 which is a pentium 3. I have adapters for dell 600m (p4) that are 19v 4.3amp and Mike at nickelsville already has one that the computer owner can use to test and see if it fits.
The volts/amps are well within spec since the airline converter for this model is a 19v 4.3.
The adapter that shipped with this model was a 19v 3.2 amp.
If it fits Mike can tell him where to pick it up.

munchkin22MemberThanks Ken. I spoke with Mike about 30 minutes ago at camp. It seems that the ports are different between the two units. The unit in question is a three prong rectangular with tabs on the lower 2 corners. He may check with PC Recycle to see if they have something reasonably priced.It was mentioned that it has Windows 2000 so yes, it’s an older model.

KenParticipantThis thing is so old I can’t even find a pic of the connector.
If the service tag is still on it I can look up the details of the pwr adapter (maybe) on the Dell site.
I have a couple of p4 laptops I am expecting in the next few weeks. One or more of them may be suitable for NV residents. I am not going to give any away to nv residents that don’t have a working battery though so I will have to do a full eval before making any promises.
I still have a powerbook mac that needs a retail osx 10.5 dvd to make it usable for nv…

munchkin22MemberThanks for looking Ken. E Bay also had some but most looked as though they didn’t have the AC cord. I guess the NV resident will find a way unless someone else has one they want to give up.
