Job Summary:
This full-time position is that of PE teacher, responsible for teaching K-8 PE, along with other subjects according to areas of strength or experience to include middle school health, history, or math, or serving as Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
1) Holds Bachelor degree, preferably in Education or related field
2) Experience in teaching and/or coaching; be able to relate well to young children and adults
3) Christian by faith and example
4) Flexible and willing to work cooperatively with other teachers
5) Professional in appearance and dress for PE teaching position
6) Strong communicator both verbal and written
Job Responsibilities:
1) Develops and teaches relevant physical education curriculum and other subjects as applicable to K-8 students.
2) Responsible for keeping accurate grading records for each student and reporting these grades at appropriate times.
3) Provide budget information to the Principal for preparation of annual budget.
4) If serving as athletic director, recruit, train and support coaches for extra-curricular sport teams.
5) Is effective and fair in classroom management.
Communication:
1) Communicate clearly and often with parents about activities and events of the day.
2) Assist in public relations events and special school events such as open houses as needed.
Health and Safety:
1) Conduct disaster and fire drills with the school.
2) Be responsible for the order and cleanliness of the classroom/playground/gym.
3) Teach PE in a manner that upholds safety procedures.
Personnel:
1) Be aware of and comply with all personnel policies.
2) Treat each person with dignity and respect.
3) Attend scheduled staff meetings; attend conferences and in-service training as requested. -
